Brand New Site for California State Senate Candidate Mark Leno
Friday, March 2nd, 2007 | Tom Carmony
We’re proud to be involved in the kickoff for California State Senate candidate Mark Leno, as we’ve been working feverishly behind the scenes in recent days with his campaign team on the launch of a brand new website. The site, MarkLeno.com, went live this morning, shortly after his official candidacy announcement.
In the coming days, we’ll be rolling out a range of new interactive features on the site, including forums, personal/user logins and customization, online chats and more.
The 2012 London Olympics Rebrand: What the Hell Happened?
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 | Tom Carmony
The web has been abuzz this week since the announcement of the newly redesigned logo
and branding campaign for the 2012 London Olympics. Granted, the initial logo design utilized by the London Olympic committee, used during the process of bidding on the games, was a bit conservative and understated, but the new look (see below) goes 180 degrees in the wrong direction.
The Valve has dug up probably the best critique/one-liner of the new design, courtesy of a message board post:
“It looks,” says one of these latter message posters (called ‘NewLogoHater’, which is either a fantastically serendipitous surname or else an alias), “as if the 80s has thrown up into 2012.”
I couldn’t have said it better. Judge for yourself:

Don’t Forget Your Macworld Bingo Cards
Sunday, January 7th, 2007 | Tom Carmony
TUAW points out a pair of sites offering MacWorld Bingo cards. Yes, you too can eagerly await Tuesday’s announcement of upgrades and new Apple products by playing along with your own bingo card.
Be forewarned however, that printing and filling out one of these will clearly brand you as either a complete Apple fan-boy or, at minimum, someone with far too much time on your hands!

Time to Get Those Last Minute MacWorld Predictions In
Friday, January 5th, 2007 | Tom Carmony
Seattle’s own Mike Davidson offers his contribution to the ever-burgeoning number of Macworld predictions, and I have to say that I’m liking his list. Of course, most of the attention in recent months, from both Apple fans and Wall Street analysts, has been on the supposedly “sure thing” Apple phone, but Mike offers a few other tantalizing suggestions, including (my personal favorite) the “iTheater”.
